I picked some of the parsnip crop - as usual they were twisted and buckled and nothing like the phallic feast that you get from Tescos. But they were a good crop. So what to do with them? Choice one, make a soup: this always seems a bit of a waste. Choice two - roast them: this would take too long and need something else to go with them. Choice three - put in a search on the internet for "parsnip recipe". I took choice three and found a recipe for carrot and parsnip latkes http://homecooking.about.com/library/archive/blv289.htm which was easy, and we had all the ingredients. They turned out really good.
The photo is of three shepherds in a Serbian village in Kosovo.
