My sister Rosemary informs me that the Redwood tree that featured last week is a Dawn Redwood http://www.botanic.cam.ac.uk/DawnRed.htm . Meanwhile here is a picture of the Birch trees that stand at the front of the garden - there are three of them which were planted after the house was built [40 years ago this year].
Great excitement for Rowan and I yesterday, as we saw a body being carried off of the moor past the garden by four yellow jacketed ambulance people. Dead or not, we do not know. I am trying to convince Rowan that we want it to be the latter "but it's so exciting..." Nothing in the paper yet.
