Rowan and I made this bird cake from vegetarian lard, and lots of types of seeds and nuts. We then put it in an old yougurt pot. Only trouble was, the birds seemed scared off by the bright yogurt pot, so we scooped it out and they ate it off the bird table. Have also got some nyger seed which the goldfinches http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/g/goldfinch/index.asp enjoying.
