Researching the Elmet book I had discovered that John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, had been born on the Isle of Axholme in the town of Epworth in what used to be Yorkshire. As I walked to Old Street to meet Paul, I came across John Wesley's house, statue and Methodist church. All adjacent to what is now Epworth Street. So there you go.
