On top of Ilkley Moor there is now a paved path where there used to be none http://www.watershedlandscape.co.uk/care/moorland-restoration/rombalds-and-ilkley-moor/
This is a good thing, it stops the path becoming an ever-widening mess, and allows birds to nest unbothered by boots and paws.
