Rowan and I rode our bikes to the station, then took the train to Scarborough http://www.yorkshirecoast.co.uk/scarb/. It was a beautiful day, sunny, not too cold. Rowan did some major sand experiments on the beach, where we saw some Sanderlings http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/s/sanderling/index.asp running about. We even had a picnic in the sun.
