One of the other historic things we pass on our way to school on the bike is the Mounting Block by the cycle track - there is a plaque stating "This stone mounting block was formerly used as the first milestone from York measured from the Ouse Bridge."
The frogs are getting active in the pond again, lots of guilty sploshing around when disturbed, and the first dollop of frog spawn. Spring soon.
