Generational Literature

Just finished reading a book by Stuart Maconie - Cider with Roadies - , an NME writer and DJ from Wigan. He is a contemporary of mine, and the book, like those by Nick Hornby and Julian Cope is great to me, because it covers the same cultural landscape that I inhabited, and at the same time [Julian Cope went to a college in Liverpool, the same date that I did]. Do all generations have this same phenomenon? Anyway the book is great, and a marvelous antidote to Name of the Rose which we are reading for book group.

The photo is of the River Wharfe when Rowan and I walked there on Tuesday.

This blog gets 52 hits some days, with an average of over 20! Seems a lot to me.
