This year Royal Ascot is taking place at York - next week. http://www.royalascot.co.uk/index.php?page=intro1&submenu=1&open=on It has provided endless opportunities for York citizens to complain about the likely traffic, be cynical about the freshly painted railings all over town, and fantazise about renting out their houses for astronomical rents to soft southerners.
Danielle and I have been invited to a posh bit of the course on Friday, so we are looking forward to that.
