After last weekend at the North Yorkshire netball Rowan got invited to the trials for the regional academy for Yorkshire and Humber at Sheffield. 80 girls, nearly all older than Rowan, all got to play 3 or 4 games under the scrutiny of the scoring coaches. At the end of the long day 20 got selected for the regional academy. Rowan's smile when she got selected lasted all the way home. I was chatting to Gareth Southgate whose daughter, even younger than Rowan, also got selected.
All this happened on a day of horrendous weather. When the rain stopped I got this photo at the ice rink in Sheffield.
