New York

We have only been in York 7 years but things have changed a lot. Since we arrived there is a designer outlet mall, a big new retail park, several new cycletracks [including the one across Hob Moor] the millenium bridge has been opened, you can now get a coffee everywhere [when we moved there was not a single Starbucks type coffee shop]. The City Screen cinema has opened in the city centre. The bin collection now includes seperate recyling bins for glass and plastic and paper. New housing has been built all over the place, some city centre blocks, lots of Barratt-house sytle. It really seems like a constantly changing place, certainly not static.

The photo is another from Fairburn RSPB reserve. This area is a reclaimed mining area, which gives it a strange moonscapesque feel.
