Finished reading Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski http://www.canongate.net/News/DoyleOnBukowski. Derwood leant it me when I was in California. It is really good, with some profound insights into things - Love is pretty much essential.
Met up with Chris [he who was not in Rome] in Manchester yesterday. Had a great three hour brunch in a greasy spoon in Chorleton with an 80's soul soundtrack. Meanwhile Danielle was being bee-inspected by a pleasant and very helpful government inspector who arrived in a Reliant Robin http://www.3wheelers.com/robin.html We now have a new hive starting up on the roof.
Ashamed to say I switched the football off at half time...
