Whilst Rowan was off to Heather and Johns for an evening of fun, we went to Leeds Town Hall http://www.leedscivictrust.org.uk/townhall.htm [a magnificent Victorian building] to see Opera North do Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle http://www.operanorth.co.uk/WhatsOn.aspx . It was great and ... free! on account of the slight noise coming through from a free rock gig in millennium Square behind the town hall... we will get a refund.
Top five operas? In no order, Tosca, Peter Grimes, Symanowski's King Roger, Tristan und Isolde and Bluebeards Ghost.
